  • General Liability: The purpose of the General Liability policy is to protect the insured from claims holding the insured legally liable for causing property damage or bodily injury to a third party (those who are not employees). General Liability also protects the insured from personal injury and advertising injury claims.
  • Business Auto: Similar to the Personal Auto Policy, but for businesses. It is important to note that the Business Auto Policy does not protect an employer from bodily injury to an employee. This is covered on the Workers Compensation Policy.
  • Property: In today’s ever-changing environment, it is critical to estimate the replacement cost of buildings on an annual basis. Factors such as hurricanes driving up the demand for timber, China demanding half of the steel and concrete output on earth, and rising gas prices all cause the cost to replace your building with similar materials and quality to increase. If you have not reassessed the replacement cost on your building.
  • Workers’ Compensation: Texas is the only state that allows employers the choice to carry Workers Compensation insurance. However, Texas also takes away every legal defense possible from employers if an employee is injured on the job. In other words, Workers Compensation is no-fault insurance, which means that if an employee is injured on the job, Workers Compensation insurance pays the medical bills (no limits), lost time pay and rehabilitation bills. If the employer does not have Workers Compensation, then they, by law, will pay all of the above. If the employer carries Workers Compensation, then the employee, by state law, has to take the benefits and cannot sue the employer. Without Workers Compensation, the employer is open to employee lawsuits. All you have to do is watch a few commercials during a workday to see that there are plenty of attorneys ready to assist in this pursuit.
  • Equipment: If you are in construction, your equipment is your income- producing asset. Without it, your business would fail. An Equipment Policy covers your equipment wherever it goes and cover rented or leased equipment if you purchase that option.
  • Umbrella: The purpose of the Umbrella Policy is to provide excess limits of insurance over and above the limits provided on multiple policies, such as general, auto and employers’ liability policies. The Umbrella Policy can provide extra limits from $1 million to $20 million in excess liability.
